Did I ever do this with my most beautiful earrings?

That beautiful Spanish teacher??
When I was 18 I lived in Barcelona for about 5 months for a teaching internship. I learned a lot, especially which pubs there were and what was fashionable at the time :). For example, I had a very strict and very nice Spanish teacher. She wore the most beautiful Spanish earrings with large round ornaments. In fact, every lesson I just paid attention to her outfit and the beautiful accessories she wore. So after one of her classes I decided to go into town; I also wanted those beautiful earrings!

Not very smart…
At that time I was not at all concerned with maintaining jewelry. So after a while those beautiful sterling silver pendants had turned completely black. I bought a dip from the jeweler to make them sparkle, but that didn't work for me. It remained a bit black/brown. So I thought, you know what, I'll let them sit overnight, then I'm sure they'll be nice and silver again tomorrow... Oohhhh!!! I couldn't have done that better.

So… don't do that at home!
The earrings had become very dull and ugly after that night. Gray and grey. I still take this experience with me now that I have my own jewelry line. Then I thought it was a shame about those beautiful earrings and of course it was. But in hindsight I think… I now know what happens if you let that liquid 'bite' into your earrings for too long.
